Windows Mail - major downgrade from Windows Live Mail!

Windows Mail - it is a BIG joke but it is not fun at all!

Windows Live Mail was very flexible and adjustable program that worked great!

    1. I could adjust how it looks like - where I read my e-mails, and even the folder tree.

    2. It kept ALL my accounts on pc and I could back em up and restore after even reinstalling Windows.

    3. I could just drag my e-mails from one account folder to another and it was moved there.

    4. Coming back to account/folder tree - I could see and scroll thru all folders to choose directly what I need

and adjust tree to see subfolders that I frequently use.

    5. I could choose to download headers only to separate maps (such as junk e-mail folder),

where I could choose either I want to open e-mail or keep it as junk without it loading on my pc.

    Now - Windows Mail -

    1. Nonadjustable.

    2. Impossible to backup.

    3. Impossible to drag(move) e-mails between accounts.

    4. Gigantic folder tree, with no subfolders - either I should make it as favourite,

thou it doesn't show what kind of subfolder it is or I should do bunch of extra clicks to rich it.

    5. Junk e-mails that are potentially can be harmful to pc open up content as soon as I click on them,

even thou I just want to mark it and either delete or scroll thru them without opening.

And now to put the end line for this disaster they call Windows Mail:

After their Creators update it just lost ALL of my e-mail accounts except the hotmail one.

With NO possibility to restore it.

And for those who asked - what the heck is going on - they told:

"Don't worry your accounts didn't disappeared, they still exists on the web!"

    WHAT!!!!!!!!

I know they are on the web,

the problem is that people have to set ALL/EVERY account manually and redo ALL settings

for ALL folders (and quiet a few have 3-4-5-6 accounts).

    Bottom line:

Make it look and function as Windows Live Mail did - it is not so difficult if you

are real specialists, thou if you (so called "developers") are bunch of teenagers with

no real experience, then find some that can do their work....

    :)

    Windows Mail

Yes, Windows mail (on Vista) is almost identical to Windows Live Mail (which I use here at work on XP), and have multiple accounts set up.

Windows Live Mail has one of the best out-of-the-box spam detectors I have ever seen in an e-mail client, and of course, it's free.

The one thing I like about WLM over Windows Mail on Vista, is that WLM does not use popup box verification when you delete the entire junk mailbox (it does, however, on the deleted mailbox). If I hit the delete key for a whole mailbox, I mean it. Honestly, you don't have to ask me if I am sure about what I am doing.

Windows Live Mail by Windows 7

    Dear All,

Core i3 with Windows 7 Home. Recently swapped the HD
due to crash & reinstalled Win 7 including WLM (Windows
Live Mail). I encountered 3 problems while configuring
my account & restoring the (previously exported) inbox.

1/ A family member of mine used my system to check his e-mail.
To do this he created a second account in WLM in order to read
his hotmail e-mail traffic. I have now deleted the account but
when WLM is launched i repeatedly get a login window
containing the details of the family member's e-mail address
instead of my details. How can i clear this and make sure that
when WLM is launched only my e-mail addres is visible?

2/ Mijn account is configured to remember its password,
and enable immediate access of my mails.
Despite of this i get a login window when WLM is started.
When i fill out e-mailaddress & password and press enter
the account is not recognised and WLM pretends that e-mail
address or password are wrong. Nevertheless i can see the headers
of my e-mails and if i close the login window i can also access & read
the e-mails.. How can i remove the login window permanently?

3/ I'd like to disable the option "leave copy on server" Where can i find
    this option in WLM?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dilbert
