Windows 10: Windows makes me reset my pin after every update!

So I have noticed since I've have my surface pro, that after every windows update I am forced to go through the setup screen when I have to create a windows pin. This only happens on my surface pro with Win 10 that I've had for a few years now. I have never had this happen on any other Win 10 PC. Its a minor annoyance, I was just hoping there is something I can do to make it stop.

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Since recent update KB3200970 I cannot use nor setup a PIN to sign in and MS Office2016 disappeared

Thank you for the update. We suggest for you to reset the login PIN. Here are the steps:

• Click on the Start Menu and select settings.
• Now select Accounts.
• Next select the tab Sign-in option.
• Click on I Forget the PIN and follow the on screen instructions.

Update us with the result.

1. Were there any changes made to the operating system recently?
   
2. Is the system connected with Wired or wireless connection?
   

If you are using wireless connection, I suggest you to plug in to the Ethernet cable and try entering the password. I also suggest you to change the Microsoft password by login to
login.live.com from other device. Try entering the password through
on-screen keyboard.

I also suggest you to enable build-in admin account using command prompt from WinRE, follow the below steps, and check if that helps.

Step: Enable built-in admin from WinRE.

1. On the login screen click on the power button at the bottom right corner of the screen.
2. Hold Shift key and click on restart.
3. Click on Troubleshoot.
4. Click on Advanced options.
5. Click on Command Prompt.
6. Type the command net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter key.
7. Once logged in to the built in admin account, try changing the current user account password.

If you are unable to change the password for the account, I suggest you to create a new user account. Follow the steps from the article to create a new user account
