    Software restriction policies are stored in the registry keys below. You might check to see if it may be listed in either. If so, delete it and restart the PC to apply.

    *Arrow How Software Restriction Policies Work: Group Policy

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Safer

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows

    If you know when this may have started, you could try doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened.

    You might want to try running RKill to stop any malicious processes that may be blocking anti-malware programs.

    Do NOT reboot after running RKill, proceed directly to running MSRT and any scanners you wish to use. Once RKill has been run, R Click on the stand-alone version of MSRT & select "Run as administrator" to see if this will help it to run.

    RKill Download

    If the registry keys are indeed missing & you cannot access a restore point from earlier, you may wish to consider looking at this tutorial. Options also included are Refresh.

    Hi debgram.
    I've one item named "ItemData" under key
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\safer\codeidentifiers\0\Paths\{f9e93b39-49d1-4179-9848-a5a2896955ea}

    which containts as value %systemroot%\system32\mrt.exe

    check this out... I wonder if deleting the whole {f9e93b39-49d1-4179-9848-a5a2896955ea} would solve the issue, I'm not sure.
    of course, create a restore point or image backup before proceding.
