Windows 10: Windows Maps on Android?

I have been using HERE maps on my Windows 8.1 phone, but the app does not exist on my Windows 10 computers. Maps does, but its not on my phone. I am going to Android along with everybody else and can not see Microsoft Maps in the Google play store, so I am wondering what is the point of Microsoft Maps in Windows 10 if the only phone it is on is Windows 10 phone which is essentially dead.

As per the description, I understand that you are facing some issues using Windows 10.

This might have occurred due to some third party application conflicts.

Try the methods.

Method 1: Start computer in safe mode and then perform clean boot.

Step 1: Start computer in safe mode

a. When you hit the power button in Windows 8.1 (through Charms Bar), hold down the
Shift key when clicking the Restart button.

b. The next screen will present you with three options. Click
Troubleshoot.

c. Next, hit Advanced options followed by Windows Startup Settings from the next screen.

d. Your PC will now be rebooted to enable the advanced parameters, which include Safe Mode as well. Once it restarts, you’ll get nine options whereby the following commands apply:

F4 for Safe Mode

F5 for Safe Mode with Networking

F6 for Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Step 2: Perform clean boot to avoid any third party software conflict.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

Method 2:

Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. It will scan your system files and to repair missing or corrupted system files in Windows. To run the SFC scan,

Method 3:

I would suggest you to temporarily disable the antivirus security software program installed on your computer and check if that helps.

Disclaimer: Antivirus software helps protecting your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software
and\or troubleshoot any pertinent issue, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you are connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to malware attacks.

Thank you for your reply which may have proved OK but unfortunately, I had not expected it ! When the Windows 10 kept freezing I decided to return to Windows 7 only to find that there was no restore point (which I thought happened automatically.) I therefore
decided to return my entire laptop to factory mode (a clean-up always helps anyway) and began inserting the first of the five recovery disks made when I bought the machine. All went well until the fourth disk would not load and the laptop was rendered useless.
It has taken me a week, using various methods, to get the machine back up working again and I am still trying to re-install various drivers, etc. At the moment I am not terribly pleased with Windows 10 causing all the trouble through not working as expected.
I may try again in a few weeks time.

Windows 10 totally freezing

I upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 which I have used for years without problem. Since the upgrade I just cannot use it any more. It freezes
all the time sometimes before I even try to do anything. If I open anything at all, it will display "Not responding" within moments. Task Manager does not show any excess usage (CPU running at about 5% and Memory
about 22%.) I cannot see how to get into Control Panel nor can I see how I can check for upgrades. In fact, I can not see anyway out except by going off tom use the recovery disc and completely re-booting back to an empty Win 7 laptop. I'm just glad I didn't
install Win 10 on my main PC.

Can anyone suggest a reasonable way forward given that at the moment I don't see how I can do anything from the desktop.
