Windows 10: Windows Media Creation Tool closes while downloading

I have a freshly formatted 32 gb microsd card. I also tried to download the iso to may hardrive and its the same outcome. after nearly a full day of downloading the the software closes and either scdard or the target folder for the ISO is empty. The computers are set up to stay on 24/7. The Windows OS on the laptop is corrupt and the scf and dism* commands are not working and it doesnt want to factory reset. Any help would be appreciaeted. I have been trying to get it to download for over a week now

You can use the media creation tool to upgrade your current PC to
Windows 10 or to create a USB or DVD and install Windows 10 on a different PC.
