Windows 10: Windows Media Creation Tool restarts my PC and Windows Update won’t install updates

I was trying to download a game from the Microsoft windows store. Upon clicking install I noticed a download would never populate in my downloads section of that app. After noticing that and doing some research I found out that people with my problem we’re also having a problem with Windows update. I am having a problem with Windows update as well. Im not able to find updates and not being able to update.

I believe my last option is to do an in-service repair using the windows media creation tool. My only problem is that every time that I try to use the media creation tool, my PC restarts. I have even gone as far as grabbing the windows 10 ISO and mounting that and running set up.EXE as administrator and that restarts windows as well. I am running out of options and would like to know if anybody else knows of any other way to fix this.

Windows updates won't install!

I had the same problem when i repaired my O/S, i forgot the steps on how to fixed it, but it is in the microsoft support forum.

You have to reinstall the windows updater, then restart the updating service.

I had read that. However the problem MS is addressing there is when the update client files of the pc don't recognise that the pc is not updated and hence don't download the updates. My updates download fine. In fact I'm even getting downloaded updates which I do not need (win2000, vista, server...) The problem is getting the correct updates installed...

For example, I'm getting KB933729 in my list. That's for Vista!

 

Windows 10 fully updated. Mouse freezes now and then.

Is it Creator's Update you installed? If you got it off the Media Creation Tool anytime recently, it would have been. Just curious.

I still haven't installed Creator's Update from Windows Update and it still hasn't given it to me as an option.
