    WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER CANCELLING INSPECTION OF FILES ON DEVICE


    I was having issues with Windows Media Player - when running, if I had other windows open my computer would act like it was refreshing. Not only that, computer was slow in reacting and I kept getting "page not responding" messages. I googled the "cancelling inspection of files on device" and found out why I was having issues. ALL my external drives were being synced with Windows Media Player. Several other people were having the same issues and I attempted to "fix" it. One problem was trying to un-sync my external drives in Media Player. IMPOSSIBLE because the little icon under the sync

    Cancelling Inspection of Files on Device Error Windows 10

    I updated to Windows 10, and I am getting an odd error message, it says "Cancelling Inspection of Files on Device" and it says that it is a Windows Media Player error. I only started getting this error after upgrading to 10. Can anyone tell me how to eliminate
    it?

    Method 1: Run the Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter.

    • Type Troubleshooting in the search bar and press Enter.
    • In the top left corner, click on View All.
    • From the list, click on Windows Media Player Library.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts for troubleshooting.

    Method 2: Run the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter.

    • Type Troubleshooting in the search bar and press Enter.
    • In the top left corner, click on View All.

    Cancelling Inspection of Files on Device Error Windows 10

    Hi,

    Run the troubleshooters mentioned by Eeshwar Kumar when this error occur.

    I would also suggest you to follow the steps and see if it helps.

    1. Open Windows Media Player.

    2. Go to Organize > Options > Devices > Advanced.

    3. Uncheck all the boxes.
