Windows 10: Windows Media Player changed my audacity files when i tried to play them

Windows Media Player changed my Audacity files when i tried to play them. Now they have all disappeared from Audacity. How do I convert them back to Audacity files?

yes I am still having issues. getting messages like, can't open file , may not support file format or codec, I tried to save them on the audacity program audio CD wav format , also tried saving music file in my pc's music, library, media play list, but will
not accept into windows media for play or record ? I thought I had successfully burned a CD once but when I tried to play it on my vehicle CD player I got error 22 message on the CD screen ? I live in a Northern Canadian community with little tech help available
so heavily rely on help forums. I tried to download an audacity report here but couldn't ?

Can we remedy this issue ?

 

A player that can play RMVB files?

All I have is windows media player 10, and it doesn't recognize the file type. I was wondering what kind of FREE software I need in order to play RMVB files. I haven't tried any of the other players as I am reluctant because I've had bad experiences with them in the past. Any suggestions would be great *Smile

What is the exact error message you get when you to try play files on Windows Media Player?

I suggest you to run both Windows Media Player Library and Settings troubleshooter and check.

Step 1: If your computer is having problems playing video or audio files in Windows Media Player, try using the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter checks the configuration and network settings
for Windows Media Player to make sure that you can play content you've downloaded and saved to your computer, or content streaming over a network or the Internet.

• Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
• In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click
  Troubleshooting.
• Click View all, and then click Windows Media Player Settings
  and follow the instructions.

Step 2: If your computer is having problems accessing your collection of digital media files in the Windows Media Player Library, try using the Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter makes sure
