Windows 10: Windows Media Player codecs for XP not 10 Op system

Trying to watch videos downloaded but WMP 11 says I can't. Have it downloaded and it runs most audio and some video, but not some downloaded or from the past. I am running XPhappy , but I keep getting the error box trying to watch trailers and online down loads. Is there a way to run the videos from my external to tower using Win11 MP without upgrading my whole op system? I have a Dell 4700 from 2004 P4 HT system with 3 GB ram and 80 GB harddrive.. Help, please? Cause I save these for video editing purposes and can't use my software for that reason cause i can't see the video.

Faulty Windows Media Player

Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

and from the last link is the same error where you can just disable it too =)
