-When I go to Settings > Music Library Locations > Add Folder > Select music folder that is a Google Drive folder, but the files are Stored Offline in the computer, Windows Media Player crashes instantly-I used Windows Media Player doing this process above for months and it worked perfectly, it started crashing out of the blue-I tried fixing by:>Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Media Player > Ellipsis > Advanced Options > Terminate>Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Media Player > Ellipsis > Advanced Options > Repair>Settings > Apps

  2. Windows 11 Media Player - Sort Music by Folders unavailable but is available for video library?

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. My name is Saeid. I'll be happy to help you out today. You can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulty with the Windows 11 Media Player.

To sort your music library by folders in the Media Player, you can follow these steps:

    1-Open Windows Media Player.

2-Click on the "Music" tab to access your music library.

3-Click on the "Library" button in the top-left corner of the Media Player window.

4-Select "Manage libraries" from the drop-down menu.

5-Click on "Music" in the list of library locations.

    6-Click the "Modify" button.

7-Check the box next to "Add folders to library".

    8-Click the "OK" button.

9-Browse to the folder you want to add and select it.

10-Repeat steps 7-9 for any additional folders you want to add.

11-Click the "OK" button to close the "Music Library Locations" window.

12-Click the "Folders" button in the top-right corner of the Media Player window.

13-Select "By folder" from the drop-down menu.

Once you have completed these steps, your music library should be sorted by folders.

As for the error you're receiving when trying to play videos, error code 0x800700EA typically indicates that there is an issue with the video driver or graphics card. I would suggest checking for updates for your video driver or graphics card and installing any available updates.

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

Windows Media Player - Music Library Locations - Public save location?

    They are all 'normal' libraries.

The only difference WMP makes is the ability to monitor additional [non-library] folders for files to include in its lists so, to that extent, there is such a thing as a WMP library in addition to the 'normal' Music library.Purely by way of example
    - My Music library is set to a folder in which I put Playlists and nothing else. WMP monitors this folder.
    - I also have WMP monitor a set of folders that include the audio files I want to see in its lists. These are all non-music radio recordings.
    - Neither of these paths include any music. If I want to play an album or a track I just use File explorer - right-click on the folder/file & select Play. I find File explorer a much better way of browsing through my music folders than WMP.
    The WMP library is in
    Code:
and I back up the files [only] in that folder every so often as a source for recovery in case of WMP library corruption.

Windows Media Player Crashing on trying to Add Music Library Location

Windows Media Player - Music Library Locations - Public save location?

    Hi there,

on my Windows 10 machine (20H2), I use the Windows Media Player (WMP) and the libraries there to organize my music. In the library settings I can add folders. One folder is the "Default save location". This is totally clear to me, as it refers to the place where files are ripped etc.

The other save location is marked as "Public save location". And to be honest, I have no idea why this setting is useful. I thought: Okay, perhaps this setting shares the respective folder in the network. Or on the local machine for other users. But defining a folder as a "Public save location" simply does nothing.

MS support told me that this function of WMP is obsolete and only has to do with the "home network groups", which aren't there anymore in current Windows builds.

So is it true that this feature for "Public save location" in the WMP libraries has no effect at all or did I get something wrong?

    Greetings!

PS: Here is a picture of the library with "Standardspeicherort" (Default save location) and "Öffentlicher Speicherort" (Public save location)
