Windows 10: Windows Media Player for Microsoft 7

I am copying videos from a Sony Camcorder HDR-CX405 by selecting the video from the Camcorder device, and copying to my Windows 7 laptop. I believe it is executing the copy via Window Media Player, but I see no way of confirming that. Until recently, after the copy, I could visually see the beginning of the video representing the .mp4 file. In other words, there is a visual of the dancers at the beginning of the video I want to launch. Now, I see only a default, generic cover for the video in question. The rest of the videos previously copied to the folder all show a snapshot of the beg

How to delete the recent play list from Windows Media Player

that covers up to version 10... let me see if its diffrent for the newer versions

and from the last link is the same error where you can just disable it too =)

 

Faulty Windows Media Player

Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

What is the exact error message you get when you to try play files on Windows Media Player?

I suggest you to run both Windows Media Player Library and Settings troubleshooter and check.
