    media player 'groove music'

    Just a slight correction :
Windows Media Player is listed in All apps > under alphabet W but not under Windows Accessories.

Not on my PC, which is a clean Windows 10 install. It is in the Windows Accessories folder as I indicated. Doing a search for "Windows Media Player" should also allow launching it.

Groove Music isn't letting me edit my albums metadata

    Hi Niksstuff,

Welcome to post in Microsoft Community. I'm Mosken, let me help you figure it out.

According to your description, I knew that your Groove Music in Windows 11 fails to display the details of the media file and cannot edit the metadata because the "Edit Info" button is greyed out. Is that right?

First of all, Media Player (not the traditional Windows Media Player (WMP), and Windows 11 doesn't have WMP built in) has replaced Groove Music in Windows 11. You can try to open your media files with Media Player.

If the new Media Player still fails to display the details of your media files correctly, we suggest you try the following solutions.

    1. Close the Media Player
    2. Create a new subfolder in the tree of music folders.
    3. Copy all the music and paste into the new folder (it has to be a copy, moving won't work), then delete the music from the original folder.
    4. Open Media Player, everything should be fine in theory.
    5. Finally rename the folder back to the original name.
The above steps are provided based on the information I have learned so far, I wish that will be helpful to you. If your problem still cannot be solved by these steps, you could tell me the specific situation in the next reply. I will continue to assist you in solving the problem.
