Windows 10: Windows Media Player Help - Creating New Album from Existing Music

Hi all-

I apologize if this isn't the right place to ask for help on this but I wasn't sure where else to put it. I have Windows 10 and am using Windows Media Player to help my dad (a musician) burn master CDs for his upcoming albums he's releasing.

The problem I'm running into is that the albums he's releasing are a collection from several old albums so it's a mixture of songs from other albums.

How can I create a new album from existing music? I can just make a playlist and burn that to CD, sure, but then the data is all messed up and it lists the original albums and song numbers out of order.

Is there no way to create a new individual album with the new name, numbers, etc to match the artwork other than burning a playlist to CD, ripping it back to computer as a new album and then tossing that CD? I mean CDs are cheap enough I guess that's not the end of the world but it just seems silly that there isn't an easier way to do it.

Alternately, is there another better music program I should be using?

Can not add Music album from Music library of computer to Media Player files

I have a few Albums stored in my Computers Music Library. I want to copy one particular album (the album has about 7 files - i.e. 7 music tracks) to
Windows Media Player album Library. When I right click on the album in the Computer's music library, one of the options is to
PLAY with windows media player - but another option is to
ADD to Windows Media Player List......but when I choose the later (ADD to list) all that happens is that the album starts to
play - but does not get added to the Media Player album list. How do I overcome this problem. I am running Windows 7.

 

Windows 10 Media Player - Changed Music Location - Album Icons Do Not Display

Hi Dennis,

The music files were located on my old Maxtor One Touch 4 external hard drive. The Maxtor EHD crashed and does not function. I copied all of the Music files to my new second external hard drive about 8 months ago, a 2TB Seagate Backup Plus. All of my music
files are now located on my Seagate EHD in the "F:\Music" file location.

The songs will play if I go into my F-Drive and right click on a song and select "Play with Media Player". However, when I open Media Player the album icons are missing and when I select a song to play I get the error message; "Cannot locate music file".

I noticed now that media player is not reading my music files from "F:\Music" location, but reading from my guitar instructional music files from "F:\Guitar...". I went into my F:\ music file and selected a song to play with media player and the song played
and also now appears in the album listing with the song title and album photo. Only the one song is listed. How do I get all of my albums to appear in the Media Player listing? It will take a long time to select each song individually.

THE FIX for "Find Album Information" Windows Media Player for Windows 10

I was having difficulty updating my album info in Windows Media Player. I tried just about everything online to no avail. Then I followed these steps and it provided the resolution.

1. On the Start Menu - Type Manage Optional Features - You may have to enter your Admin credentials.

2. Scroll down and find Windows Media Player.

3. Click on it and select "Uninstall." It will disappear from the list.

4. Proceed to the top of the "Manage Optional Features" list and press the "+ Add a Feature."

5. Scroll all the way down the list, and select Windows Media Player, and select "Install."

6. Open up Windows Media Player, go to one of your Unknown Albums, right click on the Album picture, and select Find Album Information.
