Windows 10: Windows Media Player Legacy Not using "Maintain my star rating as global ratings in files"...

I'm using Windows 11 now just coming from Windows 10 on the same PC and the Star ratings are not being saved. Even though the "Maintain my star rating as global ratings in files" is already set. I think it was there by default.The older songs that I had in Windows 10 still have there ratings and the can be seen in file explorer and any Windows install.The ratings can also be seen when I boot into another Windows 11 install but the new ratings are not there at all. I can only see them in the Windows Media Player where they were added.

Star Rating for Files

How can I get/encourage/remind viewers to rate the files or documents they have viewed in Windows using the star rating feature? When someone views a document with a designated star rating option, is there a way to give that user an alert to ensure they rate?

We have the 5 stars ⭐️ rating feature next to certain documents and/or files but no one is rating them.

As per your description. You want to listen to my music and based on stars.

When you apply ratings to songs in WMP, they are just applied in the library until you apply the changes with the command to your files. To do this:

You need to Run WMP offline

On the pane right next to Library, Music, Rating etc.

Right click on it > Click on Tools and then Apply Media Information Changes

Need to know about Windows Media Player ratings

I need some help. In Windows Media Player I can rate the songs wirtth stars from 1-5. If I rate a song using the stars does that information go to microsoft? I would like my ratings stored somewhere, is this possible? Thanks in advance
