Windows 10: Windows Media Player Legacy will not write data to media files.

Using Windows Media Player Legacy in Windows 11. When running "Apply media information changes" under either Organize or Tools, the "Apply Changes" dialog pops up, the progress bar runs to completion, but no data is written to the media files. Tags added or changed in WMP do not appear in File Explorer, either on the details view, or on the Details tab under properties for individual files.

and from the last link is the same error where you can just disable it too =)

 

Faulty Windows Media Player

Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

I suggest you to run both Windows Media Player Library and Settings troubleshooter and check.
