Windows 10: Windows media player sounds terrible after upgrading to windows 11. How do I fix this?

I just upgraded to windows 11. Up till now, my windows media player sounded awesome. I use it to connect my sony device. I have an extensive CD collection and most of it is not available on streaming or digital services. So I rely on being able to use my CDs and have something that can reproduce the sound. I downloaded all my CD's as a lossless FLAC files and never had a quality or playback issue. My music is completely unlistenable now under windows 11. I see it is now called windows media player legacy The playback is not the same as before the upgrade. What happened?The file

Faulty Windows Media Player

Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

and from the last link is the same error where you can just disable it too =)
