Windows 10: Windows Media Player will not play 10 bit H.265 or H.264 video from Canon R5 Mrk ii comera....

I'm trying to open video files in WMP in H.264 and H.264 format. 8 bit files will open in WMP OK, but 10 bit will not. I have the most Current WMP version. I have tried installing the HEVC codec and it will not install. When I try it just takes me to a "check your connection" page, and my connection is fine. But H.264, I believe, is not HEVC - yet 10 bit files won't work.

Using that and this website, it appears I have three types:

1. 5634504D-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71 (MPEG-4 Part 2)
2. 34363248-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71 (H.264)
3. Unspecified

I'll presume the Unspecified ones (there are dozens of them) are H.265.

 

Finding which videos in a directory of various videos are H.265?

I have a directory of over a thousand mixed H.264 and H.265 mobile phone videos.

Is there a way I can filter them in Windows Explorers, so I can move them to H.264 and H.265 folders?

I've checked which columns I have available to me in Details view but none seem relevant.

 

H.264 video, max settings?

Hi I have been playing around with H.264 encoding (using SUPER or PS3 Video 9) and the results are good. Except I have the feeling that if I take the resolution of the target video too big real player won't play the file.

My question is: what are the maximum settings for resolution and bitrate for H.264 encoded video's for the N95 (8gb)?
