Windows 10: Windows Media Player will not recognize blank disks consistently

I have been having major trouble with the Media player since I got a new desktop. WMP just will not recognize a blank disk as being in the drive, even when the desktop does. As a result, I cannot burn any disks. This is very frustrating. What is the problem and can you help me at all? I thank you for reading and resolving my issue in advance.

windows media player keeps saying insert blank disk while burning cd's

windows media player keeps saying insert blank disk. I did. I tried reformatting disk. wmp will not recognize it as a blank disk. it worked fine before I "upgraded" to windows 10

 

Faulty Windows Media Player

Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

and from the last link is the same error where you can just disable it too =)
