Windows 10: windows media player

hello, I was using windows 7 and was able to transfer videos from Instagram, my email Facebook etc from my desktop to windows media player by right clicking it and sending to windows media player. My windows 7 computer got messed up by Geek squad and they had to back up the data and reinstall windows 7 operating system when I got it back I noticed that all my videos in Windows media player had disappeared. I bought a windows 10 and geek squad backed up the same data to it and again in windows 10 all the videos I had saved were gone. I had done a back up to my external hard drive using Acronis true image but apparently I had done something wrong because it wiped out the operating system in 7 again now back to best buy Geek squad. I am now using windows 10 which the geek squad data had backed up from windows 7. I had over 50 videos in media player on windows 7 ]. My question is there some way I can get these videos back after all the data backups and reinstalling windows 7. It appears that that the data ack up did back up my desktop which is where I had windows media player. can any of those video be found or with all the restoring of windows 7 are they lost forever. Again afraid to run Acronis restore because of a bad back up. Noting appears in my windows media player in music or videos soe of the photos come up but not all of them either. Any suggestion on how or if it is possible to get the videos I had saved back.

Faulty Windows Media Player

Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

New Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox

Anyone who uses Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox may be pleased to hear that the Windows Media Player team has now released a plugin for Firefox that should allow the browser to play WMP content on websites. Here are the steps to get it working:

• Installation of the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin may require administrative access to your PC. It is recommended that you close all other open browser windows before continuing with the installation.
• Click the Install button to automatically download and install the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.
• Depending on your security settings, you may see a Security Warning dialog box. Click Install to install the plugin.

There is a known issue if you are using Firefox version 2.0.0.3 on Windows Vista with the installer failing with error code -203. To work around this simply restart Firefox (you will get a notification that Windows Vista will be changing the Firefox compatibility settings) and then install again - the second time should succeed.

The download is available here, and the new plugin works on all versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista (although it is mostly intended for Vista, as that currently has no WMP support in Firefox).
