Windows 10: Windows Media Popup doesn't show album art or song details

Hello,I have recently updated from Groove Music to the new Windows Media Player via the Microsoft Store on my Windows 10 PC. However on testing some music, I have observed that the song details and album art of the current song I'm playing doesn't show on the Media Popup. I have tested it with other programs and it shows the details and thumbnail flawlessly. The problem is only on the new Media Player. I have tried resetting the app to no avail. I would like to pause and play music via this popup. Please update me at the earliest.Thanking you

Some albums and most album art not appearing

(Using WMP11, I ripped lots of CDs to MP3 on my Win XP PC, and synched them to my Lumia 520's SD card.)



On my phone, many of the albums didn't appear in the Albums list, and only about one third show the album art. All of the individual songs appeared in the Songs list, however.



I edited the album details on the PC for the missing ones then resynched the phone and that added the albums and added album art for a few, but still the great majority of album art doesn't show up. Also, a few albums now appear as multiple entries with,
say, a 12 track album appearing as 12 individual albums, none with artwork, but all of which contain only the same single track - the first track of the real album. If I look instead for that artist's songs, all of the tracks appear normally.



Any suggestions gratefully received.

 

No album art in Windows Media player mobile 10

It is an old FAQ (May 2005) but I believe it offers some insight worth looking at.

5.6 Why isn't album art displayed when I play a song? There are several reasons why album art might not be displayed when you play on song on your device. In order for album art to be displayed:

• 
  The album art must appear when you play the file on the desktop version of Windows Media Player. If the desktop Player cannot display the album art, then the album art cannot be copied to your device.
  
• 
  You must use the Sync feature in the desktop version of Windows Media Player 10 to copy songs to your device. This ensures that the album art on your desktop computer is copied to the correct location on your device.
  
• 
  Windows Media Player 10 Mobile for Pocket PC or Windows Media Player 10 Mobile for Smartphone must be installed on your device. Only these versions can display album art.
  

In some cases, album art might not be displayed correctly if the art is embedded in the file (for example, by using the Advanced Tag Editor in the desktop version of Windows Media Player).

• Open up Groove Music.
• Click on an album
• Somewhere on the top, you will find 3 dots placed horizontally. Click on it.
• Click "Edit Info".
• Then click the box with the pencil on the corner.
• Done.

• Right click on a song.
• Click "Edit Info".
• Fill in the boxes (They will say Unknown Artist or Unknown Album)
• Then you will see the songs in an album (If you press Album on the side of Groove Music.
• Done.
