Windows 10: Windows menu takes 5 seconds to open

I'm tired of this now. I've tried dozens of "solutions" but the problem still persists. About every other time I click the Start menu button, the menu takes 5 seconds before it appears, every other time it's instant, like it should be. During those seconds I can't do anything else in other folders either, like clicking files etc. It's like the explorer hangs entirely. I've created some .dmp files with ProcDump where I recreated the problem but I'm now a wiz and don't know how to read them, can someone help me? I think the problem was recreated in dumps 2-4 and 7-9, but I'm not sure.Thanks for

Context Menu - Open With (Windows Suggested List)

Well.. have a look at this:




I took a risk. I've set a System Restore point then installed Gold Wave.
It was not present in that Open With list.

I used the Default Programs Editor:




Did you click Save...? You should have seen:




Note: if you are running as a standard user you may need to run it as admin, if it doesn't offer a UAC prompt.




- opened via Open With as above.

 

Context Menu - Open With (Windows Suggested List)

OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 22H2
Diagram 'A' shows Windows' suggested programs
Diagram 'B' shows the extended list

I have been trying to edit the context menu's "Open with" list of Windows' suggested programs for the .mp3 extension.
I'm not talking about the extended list, but rather the programs that first appear 'before' the "choose another app" option.
If you look at Diagram 'A' you will see the preliminary list generated by Windows, this is the list I am looking to modify.
I have an .mp3 editor named Goldwave that I use for editing audio files, however, I do not want to change the preliminary program Windows uses to open .mp3s. My .mp3s should remain assigned to Winamp Player.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
What do you think?
