Windows 10: Windows menus instantly close

Anything in the windows taskbar instantly closes when i click on it once.

When I right click on anything related to windows like the taskbar or when trying left click on the uninstall in the apps and features it instantly closes.

When I try to turn off my computer the menu disappears. When I try to search anything using the taskbar, it instantly closes.

I can't search anything in the file explorer's search quick access without the menu instantly closing and stops me from typing all together.


I've tried a clean boot and the problem is still there.

I've tried the SFC tool and it said nothing was wrong.

I've tried sfc /scannow and it says there were no problems.

While using the SFC I also used:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

and nothing was wrong.Everything is up to date. The problem just started today.

I've tried restoring my computer to a backup and the problem was still there.

I've tried restarting windows explorer and it didn't fix it.

Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.

Feature suggestions - move to proper menus, add Options window

Suggestions:
1) Remove main menus from top left menu (system menu) and move them to a standard Windows menu, at the top.
Leave the 6 system menu items (Restore --- Close) in system menu, move all the rest to that standard main menu. The main menu can be auto-hidable - pressing Alt key to invoke it or hide it, similar to the way IE11 menus and many Windows 10 built-in apps' menus work.

2) And/or, add an Options menu or button, which would invoke a separate screen with GPU-Z Options, similar to how most Windows apps work.
Most Windows apps have a separate Options screen, which GPU-Z lacks - one should be added.

Windows 10 Start Menu Not Closing

Step 2: I suggest you to run
Start menu troubleshooter. After you've completed the troubleshooter, restart your device.

Step 3: I suggest you to perform
System File Checker (SFC) scan.
