Windows 10: Windows Mic Problem

This problem is not that recent I think end of last year I got some problems after a new Windows update. Usually I would plug in my standard earpiece they would give you when buying a phone Samsung AKG one. I would always use the earpiece mic but I dont know why I cant use it now. I tried many different apps, such as discord and other communication apps and also games but always cant seem to hear my voice. I got really pissed of and bought a new headphone. I dont understand why I cant use my normal earpiece mic anymore. I already looked into my sound input settings and still cant seem to find the device, it just says im using my realtek speakers which is not true as i can still hear sound from my earpiece. Pls help guys

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

im having the same problem as well, gone through all the steps listed but still no luck unfortunately.

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
