windows microsoft needs to fix this issue my dvd no longer works because of you you need to fix it and i dont think im paying you to do so

DVD player stopped working and will no longer play discs on Windows 10.

This issue might occur if the drivers are outdated or corrupted.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it fixes the issue.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

• Press Windows key + W and type troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall the driver

I suggest you to try uninstall the DVD drive drivers check if it works for you.
Follow the steps to uninstall the DVD drive drivers:

• Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Right-click on the DVD drive listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
• Select the option to Delete driver software.
• Restart the computer after its uninstalled.

Try to access the device manufacturer's website and download and install the latest chipset drivers.

DVD Player No Longer Working

To understand the issue better, I would like to know how are you playing DVD using Windows DVD player app or any third party software?

For now let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps. Follow the below methods.

Method 1.

I recommend you to un-install/re-install the DVD drive deriver and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Click on DVD/ CD-ROM drives to expand, right click on the
  device and click on Uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done un-installing the driver restart the computer, it will automatically install the generic driver.
  

If the issue still persist, try updating DVD/ CD-ROM drives
and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Click on DVD/ CD-ROM drives to expand, right click on the
  device and click on Update.
  

If the above method sis not help to fix the issue, try the below method.

Method 2.

If the issue still persist, I suggest you to go to the DVD/ CD-ROM drives manufacturer website and download the latest updated
DVD/ CD-ROM drives driver and install the same. If the available driver is not for Windows 10 you try install the driver in compatibility mode.

  Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
  
• 
  Select Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
  
• 
  Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Steps:

• Click onWindows Media Player DVD and follow the onscreen instructions.
