Windows Mixed Reality: Bluescreen, Drivers, and Event Logs

Yesterday, my Lenovo Explorer headset started bluescreening about five seconds after botting up. When I checked the windows mixed reality portal, it threw up Error Codes 7-7 and 7-1. I use no extension cables, and so far have deleted and re-downloaded my USB 3.0 and HoloLens Drivers

After every bluescreen, there were the following critical errors in my Event Viewer

Opening the windows mixed reality portal freezes my pc

    Hi OPretzel,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

    • What is the make and model of your PC?
    • Do you see any error code/message upon PC freeze?
    • Are you aware of any changes that happened on the PC prior to this issue?

I suggest you to try the methods listed below and check if it works for you:

    Method 1

    Check for Updates:

One of the possible reasons for Windows Mixed Reality not working correctly is the outdated software. I suggest you to check if there are any pending updates and ensure your Windows 10 is up to date. Refer
Update Windows 10, to know how to check for updates.

    Method 2

    Update Firmware:

    • Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
      Device Manager
      .
    • Expand Mixed Reality Devices, right click the headset device, and choose
      Update Driver.
    • Restart the machine, and open Mixed Reality portal to see if the issue persists.

    Method 3

Uninstall and Reinstall Windows Mixed Reality:

    • Go to Settings >
      Mixed reality > Uninstall
      and select Uninstall.
    • Restart your computer. To start the setup process again, just plug your headset into your PC.

For more troubleshooting tips on Windows Mixed Reality, refer
    Troubleshooting Windows Mixed Reality.

If the issue persists, check the Applications and System Event Logs in Windows (using Event Viewer) and let us know what the logs say at the time of crash.

    Regards,

    Windows Mixed Reality Compatibility

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Seems that there is a concern with the graphics driver, which is not tested for mixed reality feature and this information is provided by the mixed reality portal.

While researching on the graphics card that is installed on the PC, should be compatible. However, we would suggest you to update the NVidia graphics card from

    Device Manager
and check. If the issue persists, then uninstall the driver completely from the Device Manager and reinstall it freshly from the NVidia website.

I would suggest you to post your query in
    Windows Mixed Reality Developer
forums, where we have experts and support professionals who are well equipped with the knowledge on Mixed Reality to assist you with the appropriate troubleshooting
    steps.

    Regards,

    Aditya Roy

BlueSoliel Bluetooth not working with windows mixed reality.

    Hi Shuken,

Software incompatibility and outdated driver are some of the possible reasons why you are experiencing an issue with using the Bluetooth feature of your Windows 10. To provide an accurate solution, I would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build and edition of Windows 10 is currently installed on your PC?
    • What changes were made to the device before this issue occurred?
    • Were you able to use the Bluetooth software before this issue happened?

For initial troubleshooting, I suggest that you follow the steps provided by
    Jay_Ca
in this thread. It serves as a guide on how to address
Bluetooth issues in Windows 10 device.
