Windows 10: Windows Mixed Reality virtual keyboard pops up even after disabling touch keyboard services...

I am using mouse and keyboard in Windows Mixed Reality. When my keyboard gains focus of a text field, the virtual keyboard pops up. I am trying to disable it completely but there is no setting to do so. I have tried searching in registry, checking with on-screen keyboard settings. Disabling the touch keyboard service on startup seemed to have prevented the keyboard from popping up when focusing text in some of my apps in WMR, but others still cause the keyboard to pop up somehow. My best guess is there is an event that still reaches the COM object, but this shouldn't happen since the COM servi

How to disable the floating keyboard?

DaveM121, this was a great suggestion, but it did not work for me. I was able to disable the touch keyboard service and keep if from launching at startup. But the problem persists. Let me just clarify that the flying keyboard I'm referring to is not
the same as the touch keyboard. The keyboard I'm talking about is the keyboard that pops up in the virtual reality native environment (Mixed Reality Portal) in the Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) headset. So, what applies to the touch keyboard does not (apparently)
have any relation to the WMR keyboard. But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

If the above steps didn't work, we suggest that you disable the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service. Please follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Type Services, and then press Enter.
• On the right pane, look for Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service. Double-click on it.
• Locate the Startup Type drop down, and change it to Disabled.
• Click on Apply button to save changes.
• Click on OK button to close the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service
  window.
