Windows 10: Windows Movie and TV App - Atmos Codec?

Hi,

I noticed yesterday that a video that I was playing on the Windows 10 Movies and TV App didn't play all audio tracks. I noticed that one track was in DTS. Now looking into the Microsoft Store I found the DTS App and downloaded it which also added the DTS and DTSX Codec to my Movies and TV App. Hence I can play DTS sounds now. But the problem is, I also got movies with Atmos tracks only. I do not own an Atmos setup but on other players that it usually no problem. So I installed the Dolby App and applied Atmos for Headphones (as the other option would require a whole Atmos set) but it still won't play Atmos tracks. Is there any way to add the missing Codec to the player?

Movies & TV app not working properly.

Hi,

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.

Codecs in Movies & TV app

Hello,

Yesterday, I noticed that my video playing app ie. Windows's Movies and Tv and VLC media player both are unable to play my video.

So to play/check that video, I downloaded an app named cccp to play that video......that video played well on that app.......but i'm not comfortable with that app..... It sometimes irritate.........
Isn't there any way so that i could get all the codecs or video format reader on my default app for playing videos.
