Windows 10: Windows mute button f5 light not working

So, last night, I installed the Clownfish voice changer, which opened the command prompt and required updating the existing audio devices for it to function. It worked perfectly, but now the laptop's speaker and mic mute key lights f5 & f8 are not lighting up. I have uninstalled the software, however this did not fix the issue.If there is a way that I can keep the software and for my lights to work, that'd be great help.

Volume Mute Light won´t change color

Before I follow your suggestions, a quick update: as the updating didn´t seem to work I stopped trying and just left it alone for awhile. About a half hour later I looked over and saw that the mute light was now blue. I tried the button but it and the volume buttons did not work at all. On the screen I was told that I needed to reboot, which I did and now the system has returned back to the way it was before: everything works except that the mute light does not change to blue as it should when the speakers are not muted. WTF?

F6 mute button light not working after latest Windows update

Hi, I have a HP laptop and the F6 mute button light is no longer working after the latest Windows 10 update. (its just the light, the mute function still works) Hp have no idea how to fix it. I have the latest audio driver. Does anyone have any ideas?
