Windows 10: Windows Mutes Mic

Discus and support Windows Mutes Mic in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I FIXED it!! It is in Windows 10 speech recognition settings. It needs to be set to your audio device.     Windows Mutes Mic


    I FIXED it!! It is in Windows 10 speech recognition settings. It needs to be set to your audio device. Mine is an Asus Xonar. Path.
    Control Panel\Ease of Access\Speech Recognition. At the bottom is Advanced. Than you will see Audio Input Devices.
    Use this. Select. Done.

    Windows 10 Creators Update Microphone is muted.

    My problem with mic software auto-muting started right after the Creators Update. I have tried all the above suggestions and some others but no fix (with and without my headset plugged in). My headset works just fine on my laptop that doesn't have the
    Creators Updated yet. Somehow the update messed up the program that controls mic input. Of note: my headset has a button to mute mic and when muted it has a light. Now hooked to this computer the light is always on. Even when I have the window open and
    raise mic lvl and unmute in the mic properties window.

    Windows Explorer is muting microphone

    Hi,

    For some time I try to find out why the internal microphone of my Toshiba Satellite S855-S5165 laptop running Windows 10 is muted from time to time.

    It seems that muting of the mic is synchronized with appearance one or more "Windows Explorer Application"columns in the Volume Mixer - Speakers(Realtek High Definition Audio) indicating muted speaker.

    What are the reasons behind such behavior of the mic and what sequence of steps needs to be executed in order to return to proper, uninterrupted operation of the mic?
