    Windows new timeline feature 99$


    A friend had a popup appear when he started his computer , asking if he would like to try a new timeline feature for 99$, he said no, but in research I cant find anything about it online and curious if it was/is a virus/malware.

    Timeline Activity not showing up

    The timeline activity just won't show up on the timeline window. I always get "Use your PC more for activities."

    I have enabled the settings required for timeline in Privacy > Activity History:

    Let Windows collect my activities

    Let Windows Sync my activities

    Show activities from accounts

    I also tried using regedit to add these variables in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System

    • EnableActivityFeed
    • PublishUserActivities
    • UploadUserActivities
    All the variables are set to 1, and are DWORD values. (as stated in this article http://www.thewindowsclub.com/timeline-feature-not-working-windows), to no effect.

    Any more troubleshooting steps I can go through?

    We apologize for any inconvenience you’ve had using the new Timeline feature. We are investigating this and would appreciate if you can provide some more information.



    If you have active history for Timeline turned on in your settings, but you are only seeing your open windows when you use Timeline, before you shut down or reboot your device please use
    Feedback Hub to submit details about the issue:



    1. From the Start menu, type feedback hub, and then select
      Feedback Hub from the search results.
    2. If the first item showing in the Feedback Hub is Sign In, please sign in.
    3. Choose Add new feedback.
    4. Select Problem.
    5. Fill in the Summarize your issue and Give us more detail fields.
    6. Select the category Desktop Environment, and then
      Timeline      .
    7. Check the box next to Send attached files and diagnostics…
    8. Choose Recreate my problem, and then Start capture. Open Timeline.
    9. After Timeline displays the open windows, but not the timeline, return to Feedback Hub, and press
      Stop capture.
    10. Press Submit.
