Windows 10: Windows Night Light Issue/Color is now Bright Green

I just recently installed a RTX 2070 Super video card. I noticed the night light on my M50-C1 T.V. is now bright green.

The night light is fine on my PC Monitor. It is normally red.

I've been messing with the Nvidia Control Panel settings in an attempt to fix the problem.

So far, if I turn the Refresh Rate to 30hz, it allows the monitor to use RGB Output Color Format, which solves my problem!

But, when I change back to 60hz, it switches the Output Color Format to YCbCr420, and does not allow you to go back to RGB unless you return to 30hz.

I've also tried all other Refresh Rates, only works on 30hz

I've tried different resolutions, problem still exists.

My Display Driver is up to date.

Prior to switching Video Cards, I never had this problem.

At this point I'm not sure how to fix this. I've searched the web and it seems this problem isn't too common. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RAM: 8x2:16BG Corsair
Graphics: Geforce RTX 2070 Super (EVGA)
PSU: EVGA 600 Watt Plus Gold

brightness and night light

I'm Independent Advisor and Microsoft MVP, here to help you with your question.

To fix brightness issue, refer these suggestions:

1. Run Power troubleshooter from Settings app > Update & security > Troubleshoot.

2. Open Device Manager (run devmgmt.msc command), try uninstalling your display adapter and then click Action > Scan for hardware changes.

3. Update your display driver to latest version.

Brightness controls and night light

Hi Peter,

Changing the Brightness settings works best if the graphics card on your computer is up to date. To better assist you with your concerns on screen brightness, we’d like to know the following:

• Which version or build of Windows device are you using? To know, press
  Windows + R to open the Run window. Type winver
  and press Enter. A new window will open showing the version and build number of your Windows device.
• What were the recent changes made on your computer before you experienced this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• What is the exact make and model of your computer?
• Did you receive any error messages?

• What is the manufacturer of your graphics card installed in your laptop?
• Have you installed your display / graphics card driver properly?
• If there any buttons on your monitor that you can adjust screen brightness?

For more options about brightness and contrast, you will need to navigate through to your display settings. To do this, follow the steps below to calibrate your monitor’s display:

1. Press Windows + S to open
Search Box.

2. Type Calibrate display color.

3. Click Next on Welcome to Display Color Calibration screen.

4. To continue, click Next again.

5. Move the slider to adjust the brightness and contrast of your monitor.

6. Click Next again, so you will move to the brightness and contrast adjustment screen.

7. To continue, click Next until you get to the
Red, Green and Blue sliders.

8. For optimal settings, max the Red, Green and Blue sliders. Click
Next when finished.

9. Click Current Calibration if you want to save your settings, then click
Finish.

Night Light Settings

Separately from the Night Light, is the brightness options also disabled? If so, I might recommend these steps to make it work again:

1) Right-click Start button, choose Device Manager

2) Find the "monitors" section in the list and expand it

3) Right-click and uninstall every item listed under the monitors section

….. note: don't accidentally go to the "display adapter section", leave that one untouched.

4) Click the "scan for hardware" button on the toolbar up top (the icon with the magnifying glass inside it)

5) Try brightness and night light settings again
