    Windows no longer updates on my PC, how do I permanently disable updates?


    I have been trying to download this update in the image and it always fails to download no matter what I do. I have a genuine windows key and did all the easy troubleshooting like a reboot and even tried some guides online to no success. This is a major issue because windows will continue trying to install this update to no success hoarding CPU,RAM, and disc causing my pc to run slower and be unresponsive and give me a non removable update watermark. Is there a way I can permanently disable all windows updates including feature, security, and performance updates in windows 11

    Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

    Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.

    Windows updates...

    Oh. Your "Registry" must have gotten screwed up FLY3R. If for some reason you couldn't download your updates I suppose you could go to the update site, and run throught the steps 'till it fails activation. Then you could go up to "Tools > Manage Add ons > then disable "Windows Genuine Advatage Validation Tool." Of course you should only use this method if you are having problems updating your legitamate copy of Windows XP. Perhaps do to a corrupted piece of software? *Smile Windows no longer updates on my PC, how do I permanently disable updates? :)
