    Windows not booting up


    So, 1 day I was working on my Acer laptop and it suddenly restarted while I was working. It happens sometimes but it keeps restarting every 5 mins. Ill go back to do some schoolwork and it'll restart, so I to update my windows, it was taking long so i slept. The morning it says windows didnt load. I tried to reinstall my windows but it got stuck on "preparing windows" and "diagnosing your conputer". I unplugged my charger and mouse and did a hard shutdown, after I turn my laptop on it just shows ACER and shuts down

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
