  1. Windows not detecting earphones plugged in after unplugging

Windows not detecting earphones plugged in after unplugging. Drivers are up to date, installing the driver and reinstalling did not solve it. The only way to get Windows detecting the earphones is by restarting the computer or disabling and reenabling or uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. But then again when unplugging the earphones it windows will not detect it when plugging it in.

    :)

  2. Headphones/Earphones aren't detected

My laptop can't seem to detect earphones/headphones, and I'm using the Windows 10 on a Asus X4414. I've tried to plug and unplug, restart the laptop, update the audio drivers, look for the headphones in the 'disabled devices' area in the Playback of the
Sound System, tried the Troubleshooting, even disabling and enabling the audio drivers, but all to no avail. Sometimes audio would come out of both speakers and headphones (but it's still not in the audio system's playback list), and most times audio doesn't
come out of the headphones/earphones at all and just have the speakers blare out audio, even though my laptop seems to 'detect' it somewhat by saying that a device was plugged in, but it would never show up in the Sound System at all. However, at rare moments,
it would suddenly work, but even when it does, the Sound System's Playback tab couldn't detect it, so it's not in the list at all. After unplugging the earphone when it does
work, I tried to plug it back in to check just in case if it's alright now, but then the same problem would ensure, which would be no audio coming out of my headphones and have the internal speakers play the audio instead. My earphone works just fine in
other devices, and is fairly important for college-related tasks, so this is quite troubling. If anybody's ever faced the same problem and found a solution, I'd be really grateful to hear about it.

  3. Does windows 10 recognize when earphones are plugged in?

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Appreciate your interest in using Windows 10.

I would like to inform that Windows 10 does recognize and display a prompt when earphones are plugged in. I would like to ask if you are able to listen to sound from the earphone when plugged in.

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps below:

    • Type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar and press Enter.
    • Click on “Hardware and Devices”.
    • A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.

Hope the information is helpful. Feel free to write to us for any other assistance with Windows, we’ll be glad to assist you.

unable to detect earphone when plugged in (windows 10)

    I am unable to hear/record from earphone/headphone.

I have up to date Realtek driver, but unable to bring up realtek HD audio manager.

I wanted to follow this suggestion:

    Method 1: Enable jack detection.

    1. Open Realtek HD Audio Manager.
    2. Uncheck Disable front panel jack detection from the Connector Settings from the right pane.

    Redirecting,
but unable to do it because I cannot see it.

    can you help?
