    Windows Not Recognizing Product Key


    Refer below background before occurrence of issue. 1. My laptop is running Windows 10, which was upgraded from Windows 8. 2. I started the Update & Recovery process for Windows 10 due to performance issues. 3. At some point during the process, I accidentally shut down the laptop. 4. Upon restarting, the system became stuck in the middle of the update. 5. After several attempts, I decided to reinstall Windows using Dell Recovery Assistant. 6. However, the reinstalled version is Windows 8, not Windows 10. 7. Furthermore, the product key is being recognized as invalid. Attaching herewith scre

    I want to thank everyone for taking the time to respond to my query. I have to say some of the suggestions assume a tech capability beyond me.

    I think I will find the original receipt, go back to the shop, and ask them for the Product Key, then try again. I suspect it was an unauthorized copy. Maybe that will work.

    According to my computer, Windows7 is activated and is a genuine product. But when I attempt to download W10, it does not recognize the 25 digit Product Key. I don't know what to do.

    Finding the Windows Vista product key

    Allright,I've tried the Hirens BootCD on USB drive and it works like charms.unfortunately,none of the utilities included on it helped me to recover the vista product key..but thats not important anymore,cos I just did a fresh install in the end..everything works fine,but a new issue arise.
    DVD drive not recognized in my computer under Vista
    tried few things but no results..what do you suggest guys?
