Windows 10: Windows now thinks that A and Ä are the same letter — again

Windows now — again — thinks that A and Ä are the same letter. Or O and Ö. They're not. A is the first letter and Ä is the second last in my language. O is the fifteenth letter and Ö is the last one. They are in no way interchangeable. It's the same as treating A as E, I or — say — O. Also files sorted by title show me files starting with A and Ä both under A. If a thing can be more wrong than this, I can't think of one right now. The numbers still seem to be same, though: the first number 0 is not clumped under the last number 9 when I sort my files on explorer.

How to add 3 last Swedish letters to UK keyboard

Since upgrading to Win 10 from 7, I'm unable to use the ALT keys any more for the 3 last letters in Swedish - å, ä, ö.

Any suggestions much appreciated thanks....

 

Typing umlauts in German on Windows 10 (ä, ö, ü + ß)

Is there are a way to type stated above letters for German without typing alt + {four numbers that no one will remember}? Really annoying because I am using an 85% keyboard, and the alt + {four numbers} thing only works with a numpad, plus I'd rather use
for instance alt + a to type ä instead of alt + 0228 and maybe alt + shift + a to type Ä instead of alt + 0196.

 

ä and ö letters displaying wrong in file names that I download

Hello.

My problem is that when I download a file that contains "ä" or "ö" letters in the file name they are displayed wrong in the downloaded file name. If I download same file with Mozilla Firefox the file name is correct in the downloaded file.

For example:

File name is:

"Tiivistelmä - Työturvallisuus (pdf)"

I download it on my pc (win 10, MS Edge)

Name in the downloaded files is like this:

"Tiivistelmä - Työturvallisuus (pdf)"

Somehow it changes those letters wrong, but if I use Mozilla Firefox to download the same file, the name will be correct.

How to fix this in MS Edge or should I quit using it?
