Windows 10: Windows.old apps still being used

I was looking through my file system and saw that my previous installation of Windows was still being used on a daily basis by several apps in a hidden "Local Settings" folder which didn't show up even after showing hidden files I had to type in the directory directly. These apps I haven't used in over a year yet it was used a couple hours ago, which should **not** be happening, especially on an old Windows installation. I also just uninstalled Spotify and it is showing that I uninstalled it in Windows.old as that is the time I uninstalled it and reinstalled. Any idea why this is happening?

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

Here is the step to remove that old email address.

Start typing an email address into the “To” field. As soon as you see the old email address being recommended as one of the potential candidates, use the down arrow key to scroll through the list of suggestions. Once you highlight the old email address, type the delete key. In many cases, this will actually remove the entry not only from the current list of suggestions but from future suggestions as well. You may even find that as you mouse over the drop-down list the highlighted item will have an “x” to explicitly allow you to delete it.

Just do this step and your good to go.
