Windows 10: Windows.old folder

Discus and support Windows.old folder in Windows 10 Performance & Maintenance to solve the problem; I can't remove the windows.old folder when i try its saying access is denied.     I can't remove the windows.old folder when i try its saying access is denied. I tried from Disk cleanup too but it's still there.

    Basically If you are not nedding to go back to your previous build with in the 10 days there is no need for the folder.

    you can get rid of it if you want but it may be best to keep it around in case of problems. You wont be able to delete it in the normal way though. Use disk cleanup. It will be deleted by the operating system I think it is 30 days . If you have plenty
    of space it is not hurting anything hanging around and just might come in handy if you start to have any problems.

    Try typing "clean" in the search bar and right-click and run as administrator.

    I have not been using Windows'own Disk Cleanup since Windows 7, 3 years ago.
    I am NOT saying Disk Cleanup is no good. Just not my preference.
    I have been using Ccleaner since then. Pick the free edition for now.
    Download CCleaner | Clean, optimize & tune up your PC, free!

    Open Ccleaner > left side, under Windows tab > scroll down to Advanced > check the box " Old Windows Installation" > right side, click Analyze > after that click Run Cleaner.

    I use CCleaner too but it didn't delete the folder

    Thank you all for the reply it has 3 drivers in it so it's not taking any space

    Ok, so I restarted the PC and it got deleted I think Unlocker worked finally! *Smile
