Windows 10: Windows open in different virtual desktops dissapearing and reappearing in single desktop

Hi,I am using:ThinkBook 16p G2 ACHwith:OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 ProVersion 10.0.22631 Build 22631I am:1. Open several virtual desktops.2. Use WSL2 to open linux GUIs and place them in each desktop.3. Use some key combination/action that I haven't identified yet.I see:1. The GUIs all dissapear.2. I open a new GUI from the WSL terminal.3. All the GUIs reappear in the desktop that I currently use.This is problematic because I have my work organized in several desktops and now I am having to spend time reorganizing them whenever some random that again, I haven't identified yet action closes

Different taskbar for different virtual desktops.

I have a issue with virtual desktops in Windows 10. When I use virtual desktops, there is a single taskbar that is shared between all of them, for eg : say I have Task Manager open on "virtual desktop 1" and Windows explorer on "virtual desktop 2" and I
am currently on "virtual desktop 1", then in taskbar I see both Explorer and Manager open whereas on "virtual desktop 1" I can only use Task Manager.

The problem with this is that when I have multiple programs and many different Chrome windows open on different virtual desktops, the taskbar gets cluttered and almost defeats the purpose of multiple desktops.

So what I want is different "local" taskbar for each virtual desktop - like if I have Task Manager on virtual desktop 1, then I should only be able to see that in my taskbar when I am using that desktop. Is this possible ?

Click the Task View button beside the search box/icon in the taskbar.

Click +Desktop to add Virtual Desktop

Hover your mouse to Desktop1 to show list of open Windows

Drag and drop each Windows to target virtual desktop

 

Office Documents open on wrong virtual desktop in Windows 10

Scenario:

• I have 2 virtual desktops open in Windows 10... Desktop-1 and Desktop-2
• Excel document is currently open on Desktop-2
• Switch back to Desktop-1, and open another Excel document, by double clicking on the document shortcut
• Document opens in Desktop-2

Why? The document should open on the desktop where I opened it? This makes for too much switching back and forth. I'd rather just clutter up a single desktop instead of jumping around all the time. Can I override this counter-intuitive behavior somehow?
Am I missing the point of what virtual desktops are supposed to achieve? Maybe I should just be using dual monitors instead.
