Windows outputting audio to both Headset and Speakers after audio driver reinstallation

Hello, I had an issue with my headset connected via the headphone jack to my laptop that I had heard less bass than i should, after looking up suggestions I realized i couldnt find 'enhancements' tab to improve this and decided to reinstall the realtek audio driver. After the reinstallation was done, suddenly when the headset is connected my Laptop speakers kept on playing audio despite the headset being connected and it outputs audio as well, looking at audio output devices, it only states that I have "Speakers Realtek High Definition Audio" without and option to select Headset, the "show disabled devices" option is enabled. I have tried reinstalling the realtek audio driver again after that but it seemed to produce the same results. I have also tried different headsets and the issue remained. Should I just reinstall Windows 10 at this point?

ok got to work from hdmi and speaker but can output go from headset and hdmi

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft community forum.

To have a better understanding of the issue, please help us with the following information:

    1. Are you trying to output Audio via HDMI/headset or to a speaker/headset connect to your HDMI device?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to update the audio driver and set HDMI Device
    as default device.

    Regards,

  3. No Audio Output Device is Installed

    Hi,

You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

    1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

    2. Select "playback devices".

    3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

    5. Save the changes.

    Let us know the result.

  4. Windows outputting audio to both Headset and Speakers after audio driver reinstallation

Windows 10 "No Audio Output Device is Installed" internal speakers

    Hello JRosales2112

    Please follow these steps

    Open Settings.

    Click on Update & Security.

    Click on Troubleshoot.

    Select the Playing Audio option.

Click the Run the troubleshooter button.

    If That didn't work

Try update or uninstall and reinstall the drivers

    How update drivers

Go to Device Manager > select audio inputs and outputs > right click in the Speakers > Update driver

    If that didn't work

    Uninstall and install the drivers

Go to Device Manager > select audio inputs and outputs > right click in the Speakers > Uninstall Restart your PC, and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

    I hope it helps
