Windows 10: Windows PC unable to create encrypted connection with Microsoft and 3rd party apps after...

Applied the Allow Fips Algorithm Policy w/ FIPS-199 cipher suite in Intune configuration profile, assigned it to my to my pilot group. Once settings applied to workstations, we noticed Outlook/TEAMS would no longer connect, our MotionPro VPN would no longer work, etc.. I rolled the setting back, but at that point the boxes would no longer connect to Intune. I noticed the policy had set the registry Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FipsAlgorithmPolicy\Enabled and MDMEnabled were set to '1', so I reset back to '0' and rebooted, to no avail. Password (or PIN) Protecting 3rd Party App in Windows 10

Hi Pixelme ... great question, but unfortunately there is no way that Microsoft provides to password protect 3rd party apps.

The only thing I can suggest is find out from the 3rd party app if they have that capability. So for your example with Kindle, contact Kindle and see if there is a way.

It would be the 3rd party app that would develop that capability not Windows\Microsoft.

Now you can use bitlocker which encrypts your drive if you are concerned with data being compromised if your machine gets lost or stolen.

Windows Mail and 3rd party messages

• May I know what exactly do you mean when you say "download messages from 3rd party into Windows Mail"?
• Are you referring to Mail app on Windows 10? If so, are you able to receive any send email via Mail app?

If you are facing issues with Mail app, I suggest
run the in-built Windows Store app troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

  Press Windows Key + X..
  
• 
  Click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  On the left pane, click on View All.
  
• 
  Click on Windows Store apps to run the troubleshooter.

Unable to install any 3rd party applications

I have a nokia e61. I have been trying to install 3rd party apps like newsgator, truphone, google maps etc on my phone. It dowloads the applications and immediately thereafter gives me a message 'Unable to install'. Any suggestions anyone.
