Windows 10: Windows phone 8 & old PC under WIN 7

Hello, I have an old mobile Windows phone 8, I used to connect it to my old PC under WIN 7 in order to transfer my photos from the mobile to the PC. As from the last few days my PC see the mobile but is unable to browse the file on it?? Any idea why? I tried to reload the driver of WINDOWS PHONE, but the system does not found it on my PC, neither on the MS site....I know, both products are very old, but - they worked correctly for me. I tried the windows 8 build thats available and I thought it was a step backwards from 7.
