Windows 10: Windows Phone App

I recently installed the Windows Phone App on my new laptop. All pics and messages appear on the app, but when I make a call the person I called can hear me but I cannot hear them. The app has a message that a bluetooth connection is required. I also cannot receive a call. When I do an update, the bluetooth icon appears in the notification box and says that my phone is connected. As soon as I place a call, the icon disappears and I get the message referred to above. Projecting the laptop screen to the tv works fine, so bluetooth must be working. In settings there is not an on/off connection option, all I can do is remove an item. When I do another update, the bluetooth returns to the notification tab and settings. Suggestions?

Your list confirms my phone is eligible, Lumia 521. The windows Insider App fails after ~ 15 seconds, restores data and gives me error 80073cf9. I trouble shot this and went thru all the steps mentioned on several websites including MS without any luck. Short of a hard reset, this is where I am now. Suggestions appreciated.

When my phone fails to upgrade I just keep trying. One upgrade took 3 or 4 tries.
