Windows 10: Windows Phone link, for Android, can't send SMS messages to phone numbers, unless you save...

I'm wanting to use Phone Link on my computer to text reminder emails to clients. Using Win11, connected to Samsung S21 5G.HOWEVER, in the computer app, when I enter a phone number that isn't saved into my contacts list, it comes up with 'No Results Found' at the top, and the phone number I can entered is shown, but I am unable to click the 'send' button as it is greyed out.Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas/tips?I'd love to get this working as it's much easier to copy and paste appointment info on desktop!Seems pretty simple, can't send an SMS message unless it's to a saved contact. M

Send and receive SMS messages without a mobile phone.

SMS is actually sent via internet Email

On a phone when you sent a text to [standard 10 digit phone number] it is actually sending via internet email to the proper portal.

To sent a text from your Email to me it would be [my 10 digit phone number]@sms.myboostmobile.com
To a T-Mobile phone it would be [10 digit phone number]@tmomail.net

A bit clumsy but can be done

Save Android SMS to PC

Step 1. Download the App
Please download the app on your HTC phone in advance. After installing it, you can open it and tap the "GET STARTED" icon.

Step 2. Back Up Messages
Hit the "SET UP A BACKUP" icon, and enable the "Messages" option on the screen. Next, you can choose Google Drive as your backup location, and log in to your account.

Step 3. Save Text Messages to PC
Sign in to Google Drive on your computer, and directly download the text message file on the PC. Once done, your HTC messages will be stored on the computer.

Using email is another effective way to send text messages from HTC to the computer. As long as you have installed an email app on HTC, you can use it to transfer SMS without hassle. Besides, please note that it will not back up the messages in the secure box or the blocked messages.

Tutorial on how to transfer SMS from HTC to the computer via email:
Step 1. Open the Messages App
Please go to the Messages app on your HTC phone.

Step 2. Back Up Messages via Email
Hit the "More" icon like three vertical dots, and choose the "Back up/Restore SMS" option. Then click the "Back up" > "Back up SMS via mail" option to send text messages with your email app.

Step 3. Receive Text Messages on the Computer
Browse the mail web on your PC, and log in to your email account. Then you will see the sent message file in the inbox. Tap on it, and download the file on your PC.

It's not perfect but it will do what you need. You need to install on the PHONE as well -- this isn't clear from the documentation but it does work and you DON'T NEED THE PREMIUM (i.e PAY) piece.

You can also initiate a call using AirDroid on your PC, but the call isn't shared with your computer. The PC is only useful as a phone dialer.

1.Click the phone icon at the top of the page, next to the search bar on web.airdroid.com.


2.Dial the number in the keypad. As you start typing the number, a list of contacts with similar numbers will show up on the right. So you can also click the contact you want to call.


3.Click the blue Call button. Now you will have to switch to your Android phone to speak to the person. This is an unfortunate limitation and we suggest that you use a Bluetooth headset paired with your phone as a workaround.


4.AirDroid doesn't let you receive calls via the computer either, but you can reject calls with a text message. When someone calls, you will see a pop-up in the browser window. Click Reject to disconnect the call or Reject with message to send a text message to the caller.
