Windows 10: windows photo app

i like to view multiple videos at once on the windows photo app, before i reinstalled windows i could scale the window to whatever size i wanted and the video would resize itself, now, when im not full screen, the videos are cropped and i can only see a small percentage of the actual video size, is there anyway to fix this? ive tried resetting and repairing, no fix.for example i could have 4 videos on one monitor, stacked, and they would resize and i could see the full resolution of the videonow if i resize any video smaller than full screen, it starts to crop the video image from the sides

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

We suggest that you reset Windows Photo app. Follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type %appdata%\..\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Photo_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState
• Delete all the contents of the folder.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

 

Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app

It's likely that your default application for opening photos is Paint. To change your default program in Windows 10 from
Paint to the Photo app, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

• On the Start menu, select Settings.
  
• Go to System, then go to Default apps.
  
• Select Photos or any app that you like to be the default under
  Photo viewer.
