Windows 10: Windows Photo Viewer automatically switches to random pictures in the folder

Windows Photo Viewer automatically switches to random pictures in the folder and the arrows to cycle back disappear.This is incredibly frustrating as it always occurs at 5 seconds after I open any image. I have to close the Photo Viewer, find the image and reopen it. I have to keep doing this if I want to look at the image for longer than 5 seconds !

Picture viewer question.

Hey guys.

I want to know if there is a picture viewer that you can scroll around the picture at its original size with the arrow keys because the Windows 7 photo viewer sucks. *Frown

In MS Paint you can scroll around the pictures at the original size, but you can't go to the next pic in the folder.

Does anyone know a good picture viewer that can do the above stuff. Thanks. *Toast :toast:

 

Unable to unzip pictures to windows photo viewer

Hi Carol,

you might face such issues if the file is zipped.

I suggest you to unzip the file and check.

To do so follow the steps below.

Open File Explorer and find the zipped folder.

• To unzip the entire folder, right-click (or press and hold) it, select
  Extract All, then follow the instructions.
• To unzip a single file or folder, double-click the zipped folder to open it. Then, drag or copy the item from the zipped folder to a new location.

• Did you check if Windows Photo Viewer is present as a Default application to view photos on your PC?

I suggest you to check if Windows Photo Viewer option is present as a default application to view photos by following steps below:

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Default programs and select the top most search result.
• Click on the default set photo viewer application under Photo viewer and check if
  Windows Photo Viewer is present under Choose an app window.
• If yes, click on Windows Photo Viewer, close the window and check if the changes are effective.
