Windows 10: Windows Photo Viewer - How to ensure photos open maximized?

I want a photo to open maximized in the window when i click on a thumbnail and it opens in the Windows Photos app.At the moment every photo opens in quite a small window and i have to maximize it myself. I've tried maximizing it, then closing and opening again to see if that works but it makes no difference.Thanks in advance.

• Do you have Windows Photo Viewer files on your PC?
• Did you check if Windows Photo Viewer is present as a Default application to view photos on your PC?

I suggest you to check if Windows Photo Viewer option is present as a default application to view photos by following steps below:

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Default programs and select the top most search result.
• Click on the default set photo viewer application under Photo viewer and check if
  Windows Photo Viewer is present under Choose an app window.
• If yes, click on Windows Photo Viewer, close the window and check if the changes are effective.

How to get rid of raw file support in windows photo viewer?




I have downloaded this, and it did not work; photo viewer is not in the list of programs in Open With or Default App. I used option 2 step 3, followed by step 5 to 9.

I also found this. It worked great:

It's easy to get the trusty old Windows Photo Viewer back -- simply open up Settings and go to System > Default apps. Under "Photo viewer," you should see your current default photo viewer (probably the new Photos app). Click this to see a list of options for a new default photo viewer.
Choose Windows Photo Viewer and exit the Settings menu, and you're done -- photos will now open up in Windows Photo Viewer.
