Windows 10: Windows photos changes color after crop/save

Hi,Today I saw the Windows Photos app is changing the coler after saving a picture. When I load the photo to view, its perfect. After cropping and saving the photo is more gray. I tried to cut with paint, and there the colors stays normal. So there is somthing in the photo app doing this.Testes with iPhone pictures, it changes. When I use print screens form my display, all stays the same.How to fix?Not the best picture to show, but there is a light color change in temp or something. I tried some apps to crops and cut, but didn't like them.

Hope somebody can help, as I'm at my wits end. When I open a photo in Microsoft Photos and crop it and save it, then Photos just doesn't register/save these changes. I can get it to save other changes (vignette etc.). I use custom settings when cropping, and it's like the app doesn't register the cropping of the picture, because I can't use the "Undo all" function either. If I use fx the "square crop" function, then there's nothing.

I have tried troubleshooting, repairing, resetting, reinstalling and looking at the properties of the picture to see if there's anything blocking it (and of course restarting the PC after trying each of these), as well as making certain I have the newest version of the app. Nothing helps... Doesn't matter which folder I save in. And it is only for the crop function, and not the other functions in Photos.

What to do? It's a new issue, appearing in the last month or so (since I last used the app).

I have just started having this problem and it's driving me insane - I use images the whole time and when I now crop them they no longer save. The answer below from Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP specializing in installation, performance, troubleshooting and activation is just not helpful. I need a simple and urgent solution to this! I will try Shane's solution to crop to preset sizes and then adjust but it's a workaround not a solution.

• To which program are you exactly using the crop tool? Photos App or Office 2016?
• You mentioned crop tool is not working properly when Photos App is used. Have you tried to close it, and check if the issue persists?
