Windows Photos creates multiple resource-hogging processes if multiple images are opened

Yesterday I was dealing with a infuriating bug that was causing quick access on file explorer to go to a sluggish rate and today I believe I found a causeStarting recently, the photos app has suddenly began making multiple processes in the background depending on how many files I open, this came after I realized that the photos app looks oddly different rather than it usually looked like and also with how opening image files on my computer changed abruptly To put it short:I open a imageIt creates a processI close the imageIt doesn't close the processand repeat

    :)

How to open multiple images in same instance of Photo Viewer?

Rather than use Photos I changed the Open with to Windows Photo Viewer then double-clicking a file in Pictures opened in Windows Photo Viewer which let me click the arrow to step through all the images in that Folder.

Kindly follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Open the image location (from location where you are trying to open image file).

    • Right click on image, click on Open with and select
      choose another app.

    • Check the box Always use this app to open .jpg files. (The file type of image will vary according to your preference of the selected image)

    • Click on Windows photo viewer and click on OK.

    • Now, try to select the multiple images from the folder and press
Enter key on the keyboard. (Select the .jpg file type of images.)

    • It will open the images through Windows photo viewer and you can click on Play slideshow button in Windows photo viewer.
Note: For opening the other type of image files, follow the steps from 1-4 and check if it works.
