Windows 10: Windows Photos Scrolling Issue

Hi, I'm having an issue with Windows Photos.


It was working fine until suddenly one day it just didn't. Most of the time opening an image file, there's no option to scroll or use arrows to the next picture in the folder. Sometimes, the arrows ARE there and I can scroll, but the images are extremely pixelated and never become clearer. If I go to the folder and open the image up alone it's clear; the issue is just with scrolling to the image.


My computer is up to date. It's 2 years old and runs very well. I did have to get it fixed recently because the fan wasn't working well, and I added an ssd. The program worked perfectly fine at first, so I don't think that's the issue. It also doesn't help to 'reset' or 'repair' and there's no way for me to do a clean install since you can't uninstall it.

Hi, should work...does for me. Have you tried uninstalling, reinstalling Photos?

Presumably scrolling works elsewhere.

A couple of other people have reported this issue here- unresolved.

Windows 10 Photos app slow scrolling

Corruptions may be the possible cause why the scroll was slow when using Photo app. To isolate your issue, we'd like to gather more information:

• Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far aside from increasing the no. of lines to scroll under Mouse settings to 50?

Windows 10 - Photo App - Arrow Keys, Mouse Scroll wheel & Next/Previous arrows do not work

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in troubleshooting this issue. The details provided helps us to avoid repeating the steps.

1. On the other computer where you have described ‘something has gone haywire’, are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to this issue?
   
2. Is the arrow keys and mouse scroll wheel issue specific to particular photo in that photo folder?
   
3. Do you face the same issue when you open the photo in a different application?
   
4. What is the make and model of the Keyboard, mouse?
   

However, let us try these methods one by one to check if that helps.

Method A: Suggest you to refer to the suggestions from Ernie San dated November 22, 2016 and Dan9090 dated September 1, 2017 to check if that makes any difference.

Method B: You may also want to move couple of photos to a different location and check if those Photo app options work normally.
